Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 processing on your $50 (~$1.75) is deducted by Stripe, just as it would be on any platform — Courtmate covers the processing on its own $1.00 fee. Are there any setup fees?
None. There are no onboarding fees, contract fees, or hidden charges. Create your facility, connect Stripe, and you can start accepting bookings the same day.
How does pricing work?
Your facility pays Courtmate nothing. Players see a small fee at checkout — $1.00 per paying player on a court booking, $1.50 per lesson or tournament registration, and $1.00 per billing cycle on membership dues. Pro-shop purchases carry no Courtmate fee at all. That player-side fee is the only way Courtmate makes money, which is what keeps the software free for your facility at every size.
Why charge the player a small fee?
It's industry-standard for booking platforms (Eventbrite, Resy, Ticketmaster all do it), and it's what lets your facility use Courtmate completely free. We always show the fee up front — never sprung at the last step — so a $1.00 line item is small enough that it doesn't hurt conversion, and your $50 court still nets you the full $50 minus only Stripe's standard processing.
How do group bookings and splits work?
When a booking is split, each player pays only their own share — plus their own $1.00 fee. Courtmate places a hold on each card before play and settles on the final roster afterward, so if someone joins late the cost re-divides automatically. Invites go out as shareable links anyone can claim from their phone, and if an invited guest never pays, the shortfall falls back to the organizer by default — the facility always gets its full court price.
How do payouts work?
Payments are routed through Stripe Connect directly to your facility's bank account on a rolling schedule managed by Stripe. You have full visibility into every transaction.
Subscriptions and memberships?
Recurring membership dues carry a flat $1.00 Courtmate service fee per billing cycle, shown as its own line item on the member's invoice — the member pays it, and your facility still pays nothing. You set the dues; members see the price you set plus the clearly-labeled $1.00 fee.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or lock-in periods. Since there are no subscription fees, you can pause or leave whenever you like.
